It’s finally here, the second instalment to feature Big Time Gaming’s out of this world Megaclusters™ pay mechanic. Cyberslot Megaclusters™ takes us to the next dimension of grid slots, with an action packed game that features roaming wilds, rising multipliers and a free spin bonus round. So get strapped in as we take you on a ride through our review of the ultimate cluster pays slot.
Big Time Gaming have opted for a very futuristic and space style approach for the theme of Cyberslot, with this following on from what we saw in the debut slot in the Megaclusters™ series Starclusters.
This time however instead of jewels on the reels we’re presented with crystals and meteors, which when coupled with the background of the slot that features bright lights cascading in the distance, sets the scene magnificently for this very entertaining slot.
The soundtrack to the game also deserves a special shoutout, with a blend of 80s retro Synthwave blasting out during your play. We really do recommend that you use headphones to play this slot where possible, then you can fully immerse yourself into the action and appreciate the mixing that has gone into the creating the music on Cyberslot.
As we mentioned previously, the symbols on Cyberslot are made up through a mixture of crystals and meteors, with you needing to connect a minimum of 5 adjacently to create a winning connection. Pays range quite widely within the game, with the lowest value turquoise crystal paying 0.15x for a 5 of kind win, whilst clusters of 25 or more of the top paying purple crystal, will pay 25x your placed bet.
Two wild symbols are also in play during the base game, with one of these wilds being a standard symbol that will help in creating wins, whilst the other golden roaming wild is far more significant throughout the gameplay, appearing on every spin that takes place, whilst also carrying a starting multiplier value of x1 that has the ability to be increased.
Gameplay begins on Cyberslot Megaclusters™ with a 3×3 grid that displays a total of 17 Megaclusters™ at the bottom of the screen. You may be asking why it isn’t just 9 Megaclusters™ in play and that would be a good question.
The reason behind it, is that unlike Starclusters, Cyberslot has one position on the reels that has already been broken down into smaller symbols from the paytable. So for that position on the grid there are 9 smaller symbols, which with the other 8 symbols on the grid makes up the 17 Megaclusters™.
When you hit the spin button, one of the reel positions will instantly turn into the golden roaming wild, which we mentioned in the last section. The key is to then form a winning cluster of symbols, so that you initiate the reaction process, which sees all symbols that have made up a win explode and be replaced by 9 smaller symbols.
Now the really important factor to this whole process is the Golden Roaming Wild symbol. When this wild is coloured gold, if it is a part of a winning combination of clusters, then it will increase in value by x1. If however it is purple, then regardless of whether it is a part of a win or not, it will not increase any further in value until it is gold again. It should be noted that the Golden Roaming Wild symbol alternates from gold to purple when a winning series of spins is taking place.
Another point to make about the Golden Roaming Wild, is that after every win that takes place, it will move to another random position on the reels. The position that it was previously in will then turn into 9 smaller symbols, whether the wild was previously part of a win or not.
For the free spin feature on Cyberslot Megaclusters™ to trigger, you are going to need to complete 12 consecutive winning connections. Now this might sound quite a lot, but with the roaming wild in play, it soon opens up the grid and gives you lots of chances for creating the wins that you need.
Completing this process will award you with 6 free spins, but the longer you can keep the wins going the better. This is because your Golden Roaming Wild multiplier value will be carried over into the bonus round, so the higher that you can get it, the better chance you have of success when it comes to the free spins.
As the grid opens up for the bonus round to begin, you will note that you are now playing with a 9×9 format with 81 Megaclusters™ in play. One of those symbols you will also see is your Golden Roaming Wild with its multiplier in place.
Again you’re looking to hit as many successful combinations of wins as possible, especially with the Golden Roaming Wild. This will again behave in the same way as it does in the base game, with its multiplier value only being able to increase when it is a part of a win and coloured gold.
Your main aim is to try and and get the Golden Roaming Wild to a value of x10, as this will initiate the re-trigger and award you with 2 extra free spins, as well as adding the Rainbow Roaming Wild.
When the the Rainbow Roaming Wild is added to the free spin grid, it will begin with a multiplier value of x1. This symbol also has the ability to increase in value, but it can only do so when it is a part of a win and the Golden Roaming Wild symbol is coloured gold.
Both of these symbols will move to new random positions on the reels each time that a winning reaction takes place. In every instance the position that they held previously will be replaced with 4 new smaller symbols.
You’re able to get your hands on even more free spins after the initial re-trigger, with 2 extra spins being added each time either of the wild multiplying symbols reach multiples of 10.
Big Time Gaming certainly took onboard all of the feedback that they received from Starclusters, with Cyberslot taking the Megaclusters™ mechanic into the future with a far cleaner designer and some exciting gameplay to go with it.
The addition of the roaming wild has certainly helped the concept in our opinion, as in the previous slot Starclusters, you could get to the situation where the grid was effectively blocked off by symbols that you never had a chance of forming wins with. But now the wild can move, it means that every winning reaction gives you a chance of further success, especially during the free spins.
Ultimately it is down to those free spins where the big money can be won. So if you can trigger the second roaming wild and connect them both in a big cluster, then you’ll be dancing along to the now legendary tune of the Big Time Gaming big win music.
